Booking and Purchase Terms for 1420 Airborne AB

This document contains the terms and conditions for booking guided trips, tandem flights and purchasing equipment from 1420 Airborne AB. We have tried to write these terms in a clear and friendly manner so that they are easy to understand. In the text below, 1420 Airborne AB may also be referred to as β€œwe”, β€œus” or β€œour”, and you as the customer as β€œyou” or β€œyour”. By booking an activity or purchasing a product from us, you agree to these terms and conditions. If you have any questions, you are always welcome to contact us.

Booking and Payment for Trips

Deposit upon booking:
When booking guiding services or a trip with 1420 Airborne AB, you must pay a deposit of at least 20% of the total price. The deposit confirms your booking and will be deducted from the final amount.

Final payment 45 days before departure:
The remaining 80% of the price must be paid no later than 45 days before departure or the start of the activity. You will receive a booking confirmation and payment information from us by email. The remaining amount will primarily be charged automatically using your selected payment method.

Late bookings:
If you book less than 45 days before departure, the full amount will normally be payable immediately upon booking.

Validity of the booking:
Your booking becomes binding once we have received the deposit. If full payment has not been received within the specified period, no later than 45 days before departure, we may unfortunately have to cancel your reservation and retain the deposit to cover our costs.

Cancellations and Refunds

We understand that plans can change. If you need to cancel your activity, please contact us by email as soon as possible. Cancellations must be made in writing and confirmed by us.

Please note that the deposit constitutes a booking fee and is non-refundable if you cancel. Refunds of any additional payments depend on how far in advance of departure the cancellation is made:

More than 45 days before departure:
You will receive a refund of all payments made, excluding the deposit, which is 20% of the total price.

45 days or less before departure:
No refund will be provided. In the event of a late cancellation, within 45 days of the start date, you remain liable for the full cost of the activity, regardless of whether the final payment has already been made.

Tip: Our prices do not include cancellation protection. To protect yourself against costs arising from illness or another unexpected event that may require you to cancel, we recommend purchasing separate cancellation insurance through your insurance provider.

Cancellation or Changes by Us

1420 Airborne AB reserves the right to cancel or postpone a trip, guided activity or tandem flight when circumstances require it. Examples include an insufficient number of participants, unsuitable flying conditions, illness affecting a guide or pilot, or other events beyond our control.

If we are required to cancel an activity, we will primarily offer the option to reschedule to another date that suits you. If rescheduling is not possible, we will refund the full amount you have paid up to that point, including the deposit. We will always try to find a solution that you are happy with.

Please note that 1420 Airborne AB is not responsible for any external costs you may have incurred in connection with the trip or activity, such as pre-booked travel, accommodation or similar expenses outside the activity itself. You are responsible for such costs, even if we are required to cancel the activity.

Minimum number of participants:
All our trips require a certain minimum number of participants. If the required number is not reached, we may cancel the activity no later than 30 days before departure. In this case, we will inform you as soon as possible. If we choose to operate the trip with fewer participants, this does not give you the right to cancel or claim compensation.

Trip cancellation for other reasons:
In the event of other unforeseen circumstances, such as unfavourable weather conditions, we may cancel a trip. You will be informed in good time and no later than seven days before departure.

Early Termination of a Trip by You

If, for any reason, you choose to leave or discontinue a trip early, we cannot refund any part of the trip price that has already been paid. Any unused services may be refunded afterwards, less a reasonable administration fee, provided that we are not charged for those services ourselves.

In emergency situations, such as illness or an accident, we will assist you as far as reasonably possible in arranging an early return journey. This also applies in the event of serious illness or death involving someone in your immediate family or close circle.

Personal Requirements and Responsibilities

Respect for local customs and standards:
When travelling to other countries, you are expected to respect and adapt to local customs, laws and social norms. Participants who seriously disrupt the group or fail to respect local rules may be excluded from further participation. You will be responsible for all costs associated with returning home, and no refund will be provided.

Health and qualifications:
Good physical health is required to participate in our adventure trips. Please also review the specific requirements stated in the activity descriptions on our website.

Student pilots and other pilots who are not fully certified are responsible for holding a valid licence and ensuring that instructors at the destination have the appropriate qualifications.

If these requirements are not met, we reserve the right to refuse participation in an activity or training programme. Costs associated with returning home and any lost participation fees will not be reimbursed.

Age Requirements

As a general rule, the minimum age for participating in our guided activities and tandem flights is 18 years. Exceptions may be made for younger participants with the consent of a parent or legal guardian and following prior consultation with us.

Please contact us if you have a young adventurer in your family. We aim to be flexible whenever possible without compromising safety. Any specific age requirements for an individual activity or course will be stated in the information provided for that activity.

Insurance

1420 Airborne AB holds liability insurance and complies with the applicable regulations governing our type of business. However, as a customer, you are responsible for ensuring that you have valid personal insurance covering the activities in which you participate.

This may include travel insurance and/or personal accident insurance. We recommend checking with your insurance provider in advance to ensure that your policy covers the type of adventure or sport you intend to undertake. Some home, travel or personal insurance policies may require additional coverage for activities such as tandem paragliding or mountain guiding.

Please also note that cancellation insurance may be required if you want the possibility of reimbursement in the event of illness or injury before departure. See the cancellation section above. If you do not already have such coverage, your insurance provider may be able to offer it as an optional addition.

We want you to feel secure both before and during your adventure.

Safety and Responsibility During Activities

Your safety is our highest priority. During our activities, including guided trips and flights, you are expected to follow all instructions and safety procedures provided by our guides or pilots. These instructions are intended to protect both you and others.

If a participant fails to follow safety instructions or behaves in a manner that compromises safety, 1420 Airborne AB reserves the right to terminate that person’s participation without a refund.

Please inform us in advance of any health conditions or injuries that may be relevant to the activity so that we can make appropriate adjustments and provide you with the safest and best possible experience.

For everyone’s safety, participation under the influence of alcohol or drugs is not permitted.

Force Majeure

Events may occasionally occur that are beyond anyone’s control. 1420 Airborne AB cannot be held liable for the consequences of force majeure events.

Force majeure refers to extraordinary and unavoidable events beyond our control, including natural disasters, extreme weather conditions, war, civil emergencies, pandemics or decisions made by public authorities, which make it impossible or unsafe to carry out the activity as planned.

If such a situation occurs, we will inform you as soon as possible. We will then attempt to find a suitable solution, such as postponing or adapting the activity.

Force majeure may mean that we are not required to provide compensation beyond any refunds due under the cancellation terms above or as required by mandatory law. We will always comply with Swedish legislation and the recommendations of the relevant authorities in such situations.

Terms for Equipment Purchases (Gear Sales)

In addition to adventure activities, 1420 Airborne AB also sells equipment, including paragliding and outdoor equipment. The following customer terms apply to these purchases.

Prices and Payment

All prices are stated in Swedish kronor (SEK) and include VAT.

Payment is made using the payment methods available at checkout at the time of purchase, such as card payment, Swish or invoice. Once your order has been received, we will send an order confirmation by email.

Delivery

We deliver products within the delivery period stated on the product page or at checkout. Products that are in stock are normally dispatched within a few working days. Shipping costs and available delivery methods are shown when placing your order.

The shipping cost stated at the time of purchase, including any free-shipping offer, is based on the entire order being delivered as one shipment. If you request a partial delivery, or if the delivery is divided for another reason at your request, an additional shipping charge may apply. This will be charged separately.

Right of Withdrawal for Distance Purchases

If you purchase equipment from us remotely, for example through our website or by telephone, you have the right under the Swedish Distance Contracts Act to withdraw from your purchase within 14 days from the date on which you receive the product.

If you wish to exercise your right of withdrawal, you must notify us before the withdrawal period expires. You are responsible for the cost of returning the product unless otherwise stated.

You have the right to inspect the product in the same way as you would in a physical shop. If the product has been handled to a greater extent than necessary to establish its characteristics or functionality, we may deduct an amount corresponding to the reduction in value.

We will refund all payments received from you, including any standard delivery charge paid for shipping the product to you, without undue delay and no later than 14 days from the date on which we receive your notice of withdrawal.

However, we may withhold the refund until we have received the returned product or until you have provided evidence that it has been returned, whichever occurs first.

Limited Right of Withdrawal for Helmets

For helmets supplied in sealed packaging that are not suitable for return for health or hygiene reasons, the right of withdrawal applies only if the seal remains intact. Once the seal has been broken, the right of withdrawal no longer applies.

If you are unsure which size you require, we recommend contacting us before making your purchase so that we can help you select the correct size.

Custom-Made Paragliders and Harnesses

The statutory right of withdrawal under the Swedish Distance Contracts Act does not apply to paragliders and harnesses that are custom-made or specifically adapted according to the customer’s order.

Complaints and Defective Products

If a product is defective or damaged upon delivery, please contact us as soon as possible.

Under the Swedish Consumer Sales Act, you have the right to make a complaint regarding an original defect in a product within three years from the date on which you received it.

If a complaint is approved, we will cover the return shipping costs and remedy the issue through repair, replacement, a price reduction or a refund in accordance with applicable legislation.

Warranties

If a product is covered by a specific warranty in addition to your statutory rights, this will be stated in the product description or the documentation supplied with the product.

Any warranty provided does not affect your statutory rights under the Swedish Consumer Sales Act.

If you have any questions regarding deliveries, returns, complaints or warranties, you are always welcome to contact 1420 Airborne AB customer service. We are happy to assist you.
